We support individuals and families in the LGBTQ community and communities of color. We welcome folks of all genders, gender expressions, sexual orientations, marital statuses, family situations, races, colors, national origins, ages, abilities or disabilities, sizes and shapes. About Melissa:Melissa Scott, L.Ac., M.Om.
I believe in whole person care that respects the individual and their unique experience of health and wellbeing. Different people, different bodies, different histories – the path and manifestation of healing look different for everyone. Many of the health concerns we experience are complex, nuanced, and interrelated. My goal is to meet you wherever you’re at and explore together the ways in which I can best support you to promote wellbeing within your unique body and experience.
I believe in the power of community. As a practitioner I value compassionate, comprehensive, and cooperative care. The majority of my practice is working with patients who are seeking pregnancy or hormone related care. Often this care occurs during periods of transition – times of immense growth, reflection, and change. There are unique joys and challenges that accompany this work, and I strive to help my patients hold space for and navigate their lived experience. When people feel heard, honored, and well cared for, they are empowered to seek and experience true healing.I received my Masters of Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University. In addition to my work in private practice I have interned in a wide variety of clinical settings including the Aliveness Project, Pillsbury House Integrated Clinic, Woodwinds Hospital, and University of Minnesota Fairview-Riverside Hospital. Although the majority of my work is with pregnancy and hormone related care, I support and treat anyone looking for respectful and affirming care. When not in the clinic, you can find me exploring and adventuring with my family in South Minneapolis.
